A importância da tensão na seleção do modelo do equipamento

Data de lançamento: 21/05/2025

As a core parameter of power supply, voltage is directly linked to the stable operation and overall performance of critical infrastructure in data centers. When selecting critical infrastructure for data centers, voltage considerations are of utmost importance, specifically in the following aspects.

1. Adaptation of UPS and Battery Systems

As a key component of power protection in data centers, the selection of UPS must strictly match the voltage standards of the data center. UPS systems with different voltage specifications vary in internal circuit design, battery configuration, and power output characteristics. If the UPS voltage does not align with the data center’s power supply voltage, it may fail to switch power modes properly, leading to excessive discharge or abnormal charging of the battery bank. This can compromise the UPS’s backup runtime and service life. Additionally, the voltage of the battery system must be compatible with the UPS to ensure stable power output during outages and maintain continuous operation of data center equipment.

2. Efficiency of Cooling and Refrigeration Systems

Precision air conditioners, cooling pumps, and other cooling equipment in data centers rely on stable voltage supply. Unstable voltage can degrade the operational efficiency of refrigeration equipment, preventing timely heat dissipation and potentially causing equipment overheating, reduced performance, or even permanent hardware damage. For example, when voltage is insufficient, the cooling capacity of air conditioning compressors decreases significantly, raising the temperature within the data center and threatening overall stability.

3. Equipment Compatibility and Operational Stability

Core devices in data centers, such as servers, storage systems, network switches, as well as supporting facilities like UPS and precision air conditioners, all have rated operating voltage ranges. If the actual power supply voltage exceeds these ranges, equipment may fail to start properly, or suffer internal circuit damage due to overvoltage, or experience frequent reboots and instability due to undervoltage.

Voltage stability is a fundamental prerequisite for the reliable operation of data center infrastructure. During the technicians select product model process, meticulous assessment of voltage compatibility across all systems—from UPS and batteries to cooling equipment and core IT devices—is essential.
